AMD Unveils Commercial Channel Program

Program Promotes Innovation and Collaboration to Create Joint Business Opportunities that Deliver Customer Value

AMD (NYSE:AMD) today introduced the AMD Commercial Channel Access Program to enhance and extend the company's commitment to partners' business needs and contribute to their continued growth and success in the commercial market. The program is designed to foster an environment of collaboration and innovation within the growing worldwide AMD64 ecosystem of systems integrators, value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors. It is designed to deliver benefits to participants by helping them gain access to and develop solutions for the increasing number of customers now looking to deploy AMD OpteronTM processor-based platforms and provide tangible value through these solutions tailored to best address the needs of their end customers.

"The launch of the Commercial Channel Access Program reinforces AMD's goal of meeting the needs of end customers through the delivery of highly targeted, market-relevant solutions," said Kevin Knox, vice president, Worldwide Commercial Business, AMD. "AMD's robust channel program has been a cornerstone of our business for decades and today's announcement marks another milestone in our commitment to customer-centric innovation and to the many long-standing and successful relationships we enjoy with our expanding network of channel customers. By leveraging a strong collaborative model, we will be able to extend our reach into new commercial markets to deliver innovative joint AMD64 processor-based solutions."

The Commercial Channel Access Program more specifically provides: Web-based self-service access to resources and education through the AMD Access Portal, distributed channel communications including newsletters and alerts, AMD product information, white paper and success story templates, partner solution registration, joint customer solution pilots, channel-specific marketing support, access to the AMD business development team, field-based channel account managers (where applicable), opportunities to collaborate with AMD and its ISV communities, as well as AMD-supported campaigns to help build awareness. AMD will also be offering membership in a newly formed AMD Commercial Channel Council where participants will share their views and can gain early insights into AMD plans and access to executives.

A core supporting component of the program is the Web portal that is designed to allow access to tools, information, training and practical help in multiple languages around the clock. This is intended to help participants bring AMD64 processor technology to market quickly and provide a high level of service to their customers. Access to demo units for evaluation and sales opportunities will be also available via this route.

The flexible, dynamic program is built on the core tenets of listening to customers and responding to the fast-changing needs of customers. By doing so, AMD can direct services and resources to worldwide channel partners, help identify new solutions opportunities and coordinate channel activities to build upon the strengths of AMD's original equipment manufacturer (OEM) relationships to create shared successes.

The Commercial Channel Access Program is expected to expand its member support over the coming months with a wide variety of programs such as specialized technical support, information resources to help keep members up to date on the latest technology news and extensive tool kits for co-marketing the newly developed solutions. The program will also help drive benefits for end-user commercial customers as solutions briefs become readily available to help them determine the most effective solution to solve their business challenges.
