Microsoft wants roll out Windows Vista more easily

To make Windows Vista more accessible, the operating system will be supplied with multiple deployment tools. Many companies are now still waiting too long to update their Windows-installations. In big companies it is for the system administrator very complicated to do this. Therefore Microsoft wants make the windows roll out more easily, and smaller. WAIK (Windows Automated Installation Kit) is one of the tools for which the software builder has put a user guide on his website. WAIK contains the components and modules which the user can select before the installation.

For the companies and business clients there’s the OEM Preinstallation Kit. It will be offered by OEMs and system builders on companies. In this packet all tools will be offered which OEMs have available, except the OEM-license possibility and the Windows Preinstall Environment.
The company will try to make the installation process easier for business. Nowadays it’s still aimed at end-users.

Already in April, Microsoft has reported on WinHEC that Windows Vista will feature a modular installation, where the user can select specific components for the installation, like the shell, the file-system, Media Player and audio- and network.
